Our First Blog

Now the beekeeping season is starting in earnest, we've decided to add a blog to our site to give you all a better insight into how we keep our bees and make our products. As the saying goes, 'if you ask five beekeepers a question you'll get six answers', so we won't be trying to teach, or to say that we're right or know better than anyone else, this blog is simply things we're up to that we hope might be interesting or even useful to one or two of you. We'll let you know what goes wrong as well as right, and we'll be delighted to receive comments, positive or negative, as long as they're constructive!

We're hoping to do some equipment reviews soon and to start a couple of running topics. We're considering moving over to Rose hives without QEs, so we'll be experimenting this year and we'll report on how they are comparing to our traditional national hives. We'll also be looking to compare the Abelo mini mating hives against Apideas for raising and overwintering queens, and I'm sure more things will be added as we go.

We'll post as often as time allows and hopefully we can start an interesting blogging journey.
